Preserving Rice for a Long Time
If you have bought a sack of rice for future use, you can preserve it by adding and mixing salt in it. you can use them after a year. They will cook nicely and remain separate. You can use one kg of salt in 40 kg of rice.

Saving Noodles from Sticking Or Forming A Muddle
Sometimes noodles stick together after boiling. The simple method to keep them separate is to add a teaspoon of oil in the
boiling water with noodles. Pour cool water on the noodles while draining them in a strainer.

Removing Shell of Eggs
If a little salt is added to the water while boiling eggs, the shell will be removed easily. Boil the eggs over medium heat. If the eggs are immediately put in the cool water after boiling, the shells are removed easily and the yolk does not go blackish from around.

Preserving the Color of Boiled Vegetables
If you want the vegetable to maintain their fresh colours after boiling, make sure you boil the water first and put them in the boiling water.
Secondly, if you put lemon peel in the boiling water with vegetables, the colour of vegetables will remain fresh.

Boiling rice
Add one teaspoon of lemon juice to the rice while boiling. The colour and aroma will remain fresh.
Add white vinegar to the rice while boiling. They will not stick.
If you feel that the water in the rice has dried up but they are undercooked; spread a wet cloth inside the saucepan over the rice and keep the flame very low. The rice will go tender after around ten minutes.
If on the other hand, the rice feels extra soft or has moisture in them, put a dry cloth or paper over the rice and cover. The dry cloth or paper will absorb all moisture.
