Baked Macaroni Cheese

Baked Macaroni cheese recipe is simple yet delicious. The macaroni is baked with cheese and tastes great and rich.
Baked Macaroni Cheese

Ingredients

Macaroni: 225 grams
Plain Flour: 25 grams
Butter: 25 grams
Salt & Pepper
Milk: 450 grams
Grated Cheddar Cheese:50 grams
Mustard:1 teaspoon
Pinch of Nutmeg (optional)

Topping
Grated Cheddar Cheese:125g/4oz

Directions
1. Pre-heat the to 200°C or 400°F.
2. Lightly grease an ovenproof dish.
3. Cook the macaroni according to packet directions.
4. To prepare the sauce, place butter, salt and pepper in a saucepan over low heat.
5. When the butter melts, raise the flame, add flour and stir.
6. Cook the flour until light brown and then add milk and whisk.
7. When the sauce is thick, remove from the heat and add mustard, cheese and nutmeg.
8. Add sauce to the boiled and drained macaroni and place it in the dish.
9. Sprinkle the cheese on the macaroni and put the dish in the oven for twenty minutes.
10. Remove when the top is golden.
11. Pour sauce onto drained macaroni and transfer to prepared dish. Sprinkle over the cheese for topping and place in the oven for 20 minutes approx. until the top is crisp and golden.
12. Serve hot with salad or green vegetables.
