Palak Paratha recipe, Spinach Paratha
Palak or Spinach paratha is one of the tastiest paratha recipes in desi or Pakistani cuisine. It can be served in breakfast or lunch or for kid's Tiffin box. It is healthy and nutritious and at the same time easy to make. parathas can be made with whole wheat flour or all-purpose flour. Whole wheat parathas are considered healthier. If you want your palak parathas whiter in colour and softer, you can add maida or all-purpose flour by 1/4 ratio.

Ingredients

whole wheat flour: 2 cups
spinach or palak: 2 cups
finely chopped 
salt; 1/2 tsp
ginge and garlic paste:1 tsp
garam masala powder: 1/2 tsp
green chilli if desired: 1 chopped
water to knead flour 
Butter or ghee: I tsp
Oil or ghee to toast

Directions

  1. Wash spinach leaves and chop them thinly with a knife or chop them in the food processor.
  2. Add dry ingredients and butter in the flour and then chopped spinach.
  3.  Mix all ingredients well and knead until the dough is smooth.
  4. Cover and leave for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Make 8-9 equal-sized balls and cover them
  6. Flatten the balls and roll it to the size of an average round paratha.
  7. Put the paratha on the pan on medium heat. Make sure that the pan is heated enough.
  8. Put one teaspoon of oil around the edges of the paratha once it starts changing colour.
  9. Flip the side once it is partially cooked on one side.
  10. Add more oil or ghee on the top of the spinach paratha so that it is covered with oil on all sides.
  11. Flip once or twice until it assumes a light brown cooked colour.
  12. Transfer on a kitchen napkin on a plate.
  13. Make all parathas the same way. 
  14. Serve with Cilantro and mint yogurt dip.
