Carrot Halwa is a famous eastern dessert. It is served on special occasions.
The basic recipe includes grated carrots, milk, sugar and ghee.
clarified butter or ghee: 1/2 cup
carrots: peeled and grated one kg
green cardamom split: 4-5
almonds and pistachios: 10 each
sugar: 1/2 cup
milk: one kg
khoya (condensed milk): half cup
Recipe
Heat ghee in a pan. Add cardamom and fry for a minute.
Add grated carrots and cook until they change color.
Add milk and cook until the milk is almost dry.
Add sugar and cook until mixed completely.
Add khoya when milk dried up and the halwa starts leaving the bottom of the pan.
serve hot with the khoya topping. Add some sliced nuts like pistachio or almonds.
